Mary Volmer

Mary Volmer, the author of two novels – Crown of Dust and Reliance, Illinois – is the Mission Fellow for Athletics at Saint Mary’s College (CA). In this interfaith, lay-chaplaincy position, she counsels and attends to the spiritual well-being of NCAA D-I athletes and coaches. Her essays, reviews, and short stories have appeared in various publications, including Mutha Magazine, The Common Politic, Women’s Basketball Magazine, Fiction Writers Review, Historical Novel Society Review, The New Orleans Review, Brevity, and Ploughshares. In addition to being a co-founder of Maker, Mentor, Muse, she is the director of the Sport for Humanity Higher Education Initiative at Saint Mary’s College of California.
