Jason Medina is the son of David and Leta Medina, brother to Charles and Daniel, husband to Dr. Nesreen Medina and father of Naomi and Camila. For over 30 years Jason has worked in health and human services. He has been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, a consultant and trainer for juvenile justice and child welfare workers as well as facilitating community programs for at risk youth, older adults, children and adults with developmental disabilities.
Jason specializes in evidence-based protocols for families, individuals, couples and children. He focuses on pragmatic solutions using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques to help treat past trauma while addressing areas of dissonance by aligning thoughts, emotions and actions. Jason also helps contextualize the influences of family, culture and religion in identity, decision-making, and relationship processes.
Jason is the co-developer of the S.T.A.Y. model through the University of Washington’s Evidence Based Practices Institute and maintains a private practice in north Seattle. He was adjunct faculty at the Leadership Institute of Seattle providing master’s level courses in ethics and law, solution focused therapeutic techniques, crisis intervention and research methods of family therapy. He has trained and supported teams in Washington, New York, Los Angeles, Singapore, Holland, Australia and other locations around the continental United States.
